Grand Prix goes to film Bestia by a chilean author Hugo Covarubias 2022 Neum Animated Film Festival

The best art award goes to an Israeli author Hana Dombe for the film „Fledge“. She is not here tonight but will accept the award additionally.

The best music award goes to Bestia by Chilean author Hugo Covarrubias. Congratulations!

The best student film award goes to a Check film 'Mom is always right' by Maria Urbankova who is also not here with us but will accept her award additionally.

The award for the best other technique; puppet, clay, kolaž goes to another Israeli author Galia Osmo for her film 'One last wish'. Please welcome Galia who is here tonight to recieve her award. Congratulations Galia!

A special award category is Dušan Vukotić category which we started in 2017 and it is given predominantly to young authors as a form of support in their future work. This year the award goes to Aleksandra Krivolutskaia for the film „The Encounter“.

The best 3D award goes to 'Samurai frog golf' by a Japonese author Brent Forrest.

Best 2D animation this year goes to an animator from Italy Simone Massi for his film 'Every sunrise'. The award will be handed in additionally because Simone couldn't be with us tonight. Congratulations!

And finally the best of the best, GRAND PRIX goes to the already awarded film BESTIA by a chilean author Hugo Covarubias. Author will recieve both of his awards additionally. Big congratulations!

Members of international expert jury 2022 Neum Animated Film Festival Ines Tanović (BiH) director, screenwriter and producer. She was born in Sarajevo in 1965. She graduated from the First Grammar school- Department of Cultural Activities and at the Dramaturgy Department of the Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts. She has been a member of the Association of Filmmakers since 1988.

In 1991 she founded a production company called DOKUMENT, in Sarajevo, which is now managed by her and Alem Babić, a producer. From 2014 to 2019, she was a president of the Association of Filmmakers of the FBIH, as well as of the Association of filmmakers of BIH.

Currently, she is positioned as the general director of the Film Center Sarajevo. In 2010 she directed the Bosnian part of the long feature omnibus “Some Other Stories“( coproduced by BiH, Serbia, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Croatia, and Ireland, supported by EURIMAGES).

The film has been invited to more than 40 international festivals and earned six international awards. In 2015 she finished the realization of her feature film “Our Everyday Life“. The film has been invited on more than 45 international film festivals and has earned 15 awards.

The film was selected as Bosnian and Herzegovinian entry for the 2015 Academy Awards. In 2019, she finished her second feature film “Son“, which was premiered at the opening of the Sarajevo Film Festival as part of the competition program. “Son“ has been invited to over 20 international festivals and it earned several awards. “Son“ was the Bosnian and Herzegovinian candidate for the 2019 Academy Awards.

Nikša Bratoš (Hrvatska) Musician, composer, arranger, music producer. He was born in 1959, in Travnik. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo, in 1983. In 1985, he definetly commits to music and works as a studio musician, arranger and music producer. From 1989. he lives and works in Zagreb.

In the period until 1989, he was actively practices music in cultural and artistic associations and rock bands, the most famous of which are Cod, Valentino and Crvena Jabuka. As a musician, composer, arranger or music producer he was involved in over 200 albums. Some of the performers he has worked with are: Arsen Dedić, Oliver Dragojević, Maksim Mrvica, “The Bond”, Zagrebački solisti, Zlatan Stipišić Gibonni, Zdravko Čolić, Toše Proeski, Damir Urban, Dino Merlin, Kemal Monteno, Petar Grašo, Tereza Kesovija, Massimo Savić, Jura Stublić, Goran Karan, and bands Valentino, Crvena Jabuka, Parni valjak, Majke, Plavi orkestar, Silente, Teška industrija and many others. As a musician, arranger and music producer he has worked on music for films (“Golden years“, “Nausikaja“, “Journey through the Dark Hemisphere“, “Diary of a Winner“, “Long Dark Night“, “Children from CNN“, etc.), and music for theathre performances, musical highlights for Croatian Radio and HTV (Latinica, Kviskoteka...). As musical producer he signed the first croatian DVD (Gibonni – “Milennium concert”), and other many more live DVD editions (Gibonni – “Miracul live”, Oliver in Pula Arena, Parni valjak, Zdravko Čolić, Bijelo dugme, etc...). In 2004, he formed an orchestra and production team with wich he worked on numerous shows on Croatian television (Studio 10, Dancing with the Stars, Stars Sing, Evergreen, I Love Croatia, The Voice, A Side). He held the positon of the main music producer of croatian musical award “Porin“, end year ceremony, in the period from 1998-2002, and from 2008-2018. He is a multiple “Porin“ award winner. In the period from 1997- 2022 he has been awarded more than 40 times in the the categories of arrangment, pop music production, classical music production, sound recordings and the category of album of the year.

He is a member of the Croatian Association of Independent Artists.

From 2006- 2014 he was a member of the HGU Presidency and the President of the HGU Main Board.
He has been the HGU President since 2014.
From 2008, he has been teaching at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb.

Corrie Francis Parks (SAD) brings life to the inanimate through frame-by-frame manipulation of physical materials. With one hand under the camera and the other on the computer keyboard, her films and installations maintain an organic connection to traditional production methods while fully integrating digital technology.

Parks received her B.A. from Dartmouth College and her M.F.A. from University of Southern California. Now an Associate Professor of Visual Arts at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), Parks continues to research frame-by-frame movement from a practitioner’s perspective. Her book, Fluid Frames: Experimental Animation with Sand, Clay, Paint and Pixels explores the tactile nature of moving malleable materials directly under the camera, bringing together traditional and digital workflow through interviews with contemporary animators and workshop-style exercises.

Parks has been Artist-in-Residence at the MacDowell Colony, Fundación Valparaíso and Klondike Goldrush International Historic Park, a Fulbright Fellow to New Zealand, and a grant recipient from the Montana Film Office and Maryland State Arts Council. She has created projection-based installations for Light City Baltimore, USA, International Media Art Biennial SEE DJERBA in Tunisia, and the UnDARK Festival in Russia. Her award-winning short films have screened at Annecy, Hiroshima, Ottawa, Zagreb, and at major festivals around the world.

Elmir Jukić (BiH) Elmir Jukić is a Bosnian and Herzegovinian theater, film and television director. He was born in 1971 in Sarajevo, where he graduated in directing at the Academy of Performing Arts in 2000. In 1998 he directed a documentary film "Čovjek koji je kuću zamijenio za tunel". After directing his graduation drama "Proces", in 2000, his first theater piece was play "U Zvorniku ja sam ostavio svoje srce" and "Priviđenje iz Srednjeg Vijeka". After that his career follows two different directions: towards theater stage and television and film screens.

In 2005, he directed a short film "Ram za sliku moje domovine", based on his script, and in 2008 a short film "Majka". The comedy televison series "Lud, zbunjen, normalan" began airing on televison screens in 2007.

Jukić put his directing signature on a couple of television series in the period from 2011 until 2018, such as "Dva smo svijeta različita, "Kriza", and "Lažni svjedok". Two of his new series "Ne diraj mi mamu" and "Konak kod Hilmije" started airing in 2018.

In 2008 he directed the drama "Žaba", which went on to become a big theater hit, and in 2018 it celebrated 10 years of being performed on stage. Almost 10 years after creating the drama, director ventured into a new project- he decided to direct his first feature film based on the drama of the same name. Film "Frog" was created which was met with positive critics. He is currently directing two series, "Na rubu pameti" and "Radio Mileva".

Aleta Rajič (BiH) Was born in 1990, in Čapljina. She has a master's degree in English and Art History from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Mostar. She started working on animated films, in Studio Neum, while she was still in elementary school, where she worked on several films as scenographer and animator. She attended numerous animation work-shops and education programms in the organisation of Studio Neum. For the last few years she has been one of the lecturers in the School of animated films (in Mostar and Neum). “Natural Selection“ is her second film, which, in less than a year, was selected at over 70 international film festivals (including the premiere at SFF, Annecy, Pula Film Festival, Monstra, Animafest, etc.) and won seventeen awards for the best animation at festivals around the world. She was a member of expert juries at several world festival. For the last 10 years, Aleta has been a member of the organisational team of the NAFF Animated Film Festival in Neum, where she, currently, actively participates in the artistic direction.

Maša Avramović (Srbija) was born in 1994 in Belgrade, Serbia. She studied animation at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade and at “La Poudriere” in Valence, France. She enjoys experimenting with paper cutouts, traditional and digital 2D animation. Her graduation film Stuck together won the Dušan Vukotić award at NAFF in 2021. and Prix L’Extra Court at the Poitiers Film Festival. Her latest film Trails of the morning is traveling to festivals at the moment.

Robin Heap (UK) is an independent Animation Director and Lecturer in Animation at Staffordshire University in the UK. Robin is currently focused on developing new stop motion projects and guiding undergraduates in their animation studies. Making miniature worlds through a mix of hand-crafted models, cinematography and sprinkles of digital magic, is what drives Robin’s creative practice.
